About

What this is

and why it exists

How to Be Dumb is a book about thinking less — or more precisely, about thinking better by thinking less often.

It started from a personal observation: most of the best decisions in my life came quickly, from something that felt like nerve or instinct. Most of the worst came from extended deliberation that slowly optimized all the life out of them.

The book is not anti-intellectual. It's a case for strategic stupidity — saving your analytical capacity for the decisions that actually deserve it, and trusting everything else to the body, coincidence, and the willingness to look slightly ridiculous.

It has three chapters. They can be read in any order. The ideas in each are designed to be practiced, not just understood.

The project

This is an ongoing writing project available online. The web app includes the full text of each chapter, AI-assisted reflection tools, and a voice journal for capturing thoughts without overthinking them.
